Sr. Process Manager (Expat)

Our client is looking to fill this as an Expat role, reporting to a General Manager, the Senior Process Manager will partner with the site leadership team and corporate office to identify long-term strategic and short-term tactical opportunities to create greater efficiencies in processes and systems for resource optimization.


-To work with the site leadership team, process teams and corporate office, to initiate and execute continuous improvement projects for all aspects of gold recovery;
-Maintain optimal value by developing, overseeing and regulating various work methods, procedures and materials to ensure a safe workplace, efficient productivity and environmentally sound operation of the process plant;
-Be the operational expert and provide coaching to improve understanding and the adoption of operational excellence;
-Proactively strengthen and develop the process team by sharing best practices, knowledge and tools, and implement programs to provide effective training and mentoring;
-Responsible for the control and planning of operating costs and capital expenditure, preparing accurate budgets, forecasts and accounting as needed and in accordance with company direction; and
-Accountable for identifying and communicating obstacles and challenges encountered as well as opportunities for accelerating and enhancing the process plant.

-BA (Hons), BSc, or equivalent in chemical, mineral processing or metallurgical engineering.
-Advanced knowledge of gold recovery, solution chemistry and ADR operation.
-Extensive experience in gold processing for large heap leach operations.
-Experience with direct leaching of sulfide gold ore, preferably by heap leaching.
-Proven experience as a departmental manager or equivalent experience in managing teams and people with varying education levels.
-Proven ability to view the organization as a “whole system” rather than a collection of departments.
-Ability to link strategic objectives and customer needs to process management.
-Experience of analyzing and processing data to recognize systematic flaws that require process redesign.
-Prior experience with overseeing mine lab performance preferred.
-Expat experience is advantageous.
-Ability to resolve conflict and gain buy-in from functional managers.
-Dedication and proactive experience of deploying best practices for health, safety and environment.
-Good communication skills in English, both verbally and written.
