Site Controller

Reporting to the General Manager & CFO of the Company, the Mine Site Controller will be responsible for providing accurate and timely ledger transactions in order to maintain and close the books. This role will be responsible for validating transactions, creating accruals where appropriate, and truing up costs with actuals when available. This position is based at an operating mine site in Canada and all candidates must be eligible to work in Canada to be considered for this role.

Requirements:

Education
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CA, CGA, CMA designation or working towards obtaining designation

Experience
• 5+ years of previous experience in general, cost and financial accounting
• Previous experience working in a mining operation or industrial setting preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Thorough understanding of accounts payables and administration process
• Knowledge of basic financial reporting
• Technical accounting skills
• Knowledge of regulations and reporting requirements
• Ability to work well under pressure on a number of tasks with imposing deadlines
• Creative problem solver and able to respond to various situations with appropriate urgency
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to adhere to a high level of confidentiality
• Knowledge of ACCPAC considered an asset
• Bilingualism considered an asset
