Blaster – Development & Production

Our client is seeking Blasters – Development & Production. Schedule will be 10.5 hours per shift on a 7/7 schedule rotating between days and nights, may be subject to change. This position is based at a mine site in Eastern Canada and all candidates must be eligible to work in Canada to be considered for this role.

Experience & Requirements:
• Ideally 3-4 years’ as a miner
• Common Core Certification is an asset
• Valid Driver’s License
• Proven competency as a cable bolter drill operator and manual scoop operation
• Experience with safe handling of explosives
• Ability to perform long-hole drilling
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drill and blast plans
• Experience achieving production levels
• Experience using radios, visual and light signals to communicate
Experience preparing work related documentation (drill hole logs, explosives consumption, etc.)
• Ability to participate in physical activity of varying intensity, duration and frequency
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast paced environment
• Must have a positive attitude and attention to detail
• Police clearance is a requirement of employment
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions
• Proven ability to deal with and process instability and changing conditions
• Proven ability in English (written and spoken)
• Understanding of incidents reporting and workplace hazards
• Familiarity with safety standards and procedures
