Lab Supervisor

Looking for a Lab Supervisor with a strong background in metallurgy and statistics who can see the big picture and contribute both inside and outside their area of responsibility. If you are looking for a fast paced and varied work environment where you can work without being overloaded with bureaucracy and paperwork then this is the job for you.

Responsibilities
· Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment by ensuring that safety values are present in all aspects of work
· Evaluate effectiveness of own and other’s work and make necessary changes to improve metrics
· Production and operational performance reporting
· Guide and mentor junior engineers including direct supervision as necessary
· Direct, empower, develop and supervise all assay and metallurgical technicians
· Provide training and documentation of QA/QC compliance for all assay and metallurgical work completed in support of heap leach and plant optimization test planning
· Develop metallurgical test programs to advance projects through the scoping and prefeasibility stages
· Review, revise, or create standard operating procedures
· Review, revise, or create job progression plans
· All other duties assigned

Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years direct assay lab and metallurgical lab experience
· Supervisory experience preferred
· In-depth understanding of refractory gold pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy
· Proven ability to lead innovative projects from conception through design
· Experience presenting and publishing high-quality work
· Ability to work with a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
· Work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to assist with budgeting, set priorities, meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
· Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership qualities
· Demonstrate strong computer skills
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
· Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position
